Reports: Roughriders to add Mueller as OC

It appears that Corey Mace has turned to a familiar face with his first decision as head coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

According to TSN’s and contributor to the Sportscage, Farhan Lalji, Mace will hire Regina’s own Marc Mueller as the new offensive coordinator.

Mueller joined the Calgary Stampeders coaching staff in 2014 as a Defensive Assistant. He became the Running Backs Coach in 2015 and then moved over as the Quarterbacks Coach in 2020.

During his time in Calgary, Mueller spent time on the Stampeders coaching staff when Mace was the team’s defensive line coach (2016-21).

Last year Mueller interviewed for the vacant offensive coordinator position with the Roughriders, but elected to stay in Calgary for the 2023 season.

Earlier on Monday, the Ottawa Redblacks announced they hired Tommy Condell as the team’s new offensive coordinator to replace Khari Jones.
