Police have charged 38 year old Gregory David Keepness with second degree murder in the death of 36 year old Jessica Anne Matechuck on October 8th, 2023.

That night, the Regina Police Service was called to the 2000 block of Ottawa street where they found the woman dead.

Keepness was arrested Thursday, and will be making his first court appearance on Friday in Regina Provincial Court.

Police didn’t have to look far to find him.

Keepness was already in jail after being arrested and charged in a pair of unrelated incidents. On October 8th 2023, Keepness is accused of being involved in the assault and stabbing in the 2100 block of Broder Street. He is also charged in a robbery and stabbing October 18th. He made court appearances on charges related to those two incidents on October 24th.

He remains in custody.
