The Yorkton Terriers completed a big deal on Sunday night with the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL).
The Terriers traded their 20 year old captain Clay Sleeva (pictured above) to the Mustangs in exchange for F David Coyle (’04), prospects D Thomas Ries (’06), F Kale Johns (’07) and a 2025 2nd round draft pick.
Sleeva, a Canora product suited up in 137 career games in a Terrier uniform compiling 39 goals, 46 assists for 85 points. So far this season he has 10 goals, 12 assists for 22 points in 28 games.
In return for the Terriers, Coyle (North Vancouver, BC) has 13 goals, 14 assists for 27 points in 31 games.
Reis (Humboldt, SK) is a member of the Estevan Bears (SK U18 AAA) and has 19 points in 28 games this season, while Johns (Lumsden, SK) has 1 assist in 3 games with Yorkton Maulers U18 AAA.

The Terriers then traded 19 year old forward Cade Kennedy (Regina, SK) to the Estevan Bruins in exchange for the CJHL rights to 2004-born forward Carter Dereniwsky and a player development fee.
Kennedy played in 86 career games with the Terriers notching 14 goals, 17 assists for 31 points. So far in 2023/24 he had 6 goals, 7 assists for 13 points in 27 games.
Dereniwsky, a Canora product is currently a member of the WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes and has 4 points this season in 17 games.

Millionaires acquire F Norris from Melfort
The Melville Millionaires have acquired 20 year old F Hudson Norris from the Melfort Mustangs for a player development fee.
Norris was acquired by the Mustangs from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons (AJHL), and chipped in with 6 points in 18 games with the Mustangs.
