The Saskatchewan Roughriders have locked down one of their shutdown defensive backs to a new deal.
Amari Henderson has agreed to terms with the Roughriders.
Henderson has spent the last two seasons with the green and white. In 2023, the Charlotte, N.C. product suited up in all 18 games for the green and white. He recorded 45 tackles and two interceptions.
The 26-year-old originally joined the Roughriders in 2022, playing in 11 games and picking up 31 tackles.
Prior to signing with Saskatchewan, Henderson signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020 as an undrafted free agent, spending time on the team’s practice squad. He spent time with the Minnesota Vikings in 2021, playing in one preseason game.
Collegiately, Henderson spent five seasons at Wake Forest University (2015-19), playing in 46 games. In his senior year, the Demon Deacon finished second in the ACC in interceptions (4). He was invited to the NFLPA Bowl that year.
