Three people were injured in an apparent explosion in the 400 Block of Albert Street yesterday afternoon.
Regina Fire and Protective Services has issued a statement, but there is still no official word on what caused the blast.
Initially fire fighters thought they were investigating an exploding electrical transformer.
The statement goes on to say “On arrival, significant damage to the building was noted with a fire actively burning in the southwest corner. Firefighters evacuated the building, which contained six businesses. The fire had spread into the attic space, but firefighters were able to bring it under control and contain it quickly.”
The investigation has led to confirmation there was an explosion in the south west corner of the building, and that Sask Energy is involved in the investigation as well.
