The Regina Pats picked up a much needed two points on Saturday with a 5-4 Overtime win over the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Zane Rowan scored the game-winning goal for Regina, tipping the pass from Braxton Whitehead.
It was a come from behind win for the Pats, with Medicine Hat opening up with a 2-0 lead.
Whitehead (1G-1A) , Tye Spencer (1G-1A) and Logan Peskett (1G-1A) led the way with multi-point nights for Regina in the win. Tyson Buczkowski also picked up his first goal since becoming a Pat.
Ewan Huet collected his seventh win of the season, making 40 saves.
Andrew Basha had four points (1G-3A) in the loss for Medicine Ha, with Shane Smith, Tomas Mrsic and Hunter St. Martin rounded out the scoring. Zach Zahara made 17 saves in the loss.
The Pats gained some ground on the Prince Albert Raiders for the final playoff spot in the playoff race as a result of the Raiders losing 2-1 in Red Deer on Saturday night. The Regiment trail by three points.
Regina will now finish off the month of January with three road games, beginning on Friday, January 26 in Lethbridge. They will then head to Calgary on Sunday, January 28 for an afternoon tilt against the Hitmen. The Pats then end the month on Wednesday, January 31st in Saskatoon.
