The Saskatchewan Roughriders added plenty of veteran experience with the signing of National Offensive Lineman Philip Blake to a one-year contract extension.
Blake (6’3-310) saw action in six games last season, after he suffered a torn pectoral injury during the preseason.
In 2022, the 38-year-old won a Grey Cup in Regina alongside the Toronto Argonauts. That season, he appeared in 17 regular season games along with the East Final and Grey Cup. Blake originally joined the Argos in 2020 and played in 11 games in 2021.
Before joining the Argos, Blake spent time with the Roughriders (2018-19) and the Alouettes (2015-18).
He was selected by the Montreal Alouettes in the third round of the 2011 CFL Draft (23rd overall) and was taken by the Denver Broncos in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft (108th overall).
Collegiately, Blake was with Baylor, (2009-11), lining up at right guard and centre. He was named a Big 12 all-star during his senior season.
