Four veteran MLAs within the Saskatchewan Party announced that they will not be seeking an election.
Humboldt MLA Donna Harpauer, Indian Head-Milestone MLA Don McMorris, Weyburn-Big Muddy MLA Dustin Duncan, and Saskatoon Northwest MLA Gord Wyant announced that they would not be running again in this year’s provincial election.
Harpauer and McMorris were first elected in 1999, with Duncan elected in 2006 and Wyant elected in 2010.
“That’s over 80 years of combined political experience and service to the people of Saskatchewan, and that’s not easy to replace,” Premier Scott Moe said. “But at the same time, every government and every party needs renewal, and I respect the decision that Donna, Don, Dustin, and Gord all made – that it’s time for renewal in their constituencies and for a new chapter in each of their lives.”
The newly announced four join Saskatoon Southeast MLA Don Morgan, MLA for Arm River Dana Skoropad, Batoche MLA Delbert Kirsch, MLA for Carrot River Fred Bradshaw, Yorkton MLA Greg Ottenbreit, and Kindersley MLA Ken Francis has current Sask. Party MLAs who will not be seeking re-election.
