Despite the San Francisco 49ers being favoured to win this year’s championship NFL game, it was the Kansas City Chiefs who walked away with the Vince Lombardi Trophy in overtime. Gloria, Jeff and I made a friendly wager on Friday over the game. If Kansas City won, I’d have to sing 30 seconds of a Taylor Swift song on the radio. If the 49ers won, Gloria and Jeff would have to sing a Taylor Swift duet. This left me conflicted because I didn’t want to sing on the radio, yet I hated to see the 49ers win because they knocked out my favourite team, the Green Bay Packers, in the playoffs. What a dilemma!

It really looked as if it was going to be a 49ers win, but one must never count out Patrick Mahomes and his receivers in crunch time. They’ve proved time after time that they can pull out wins in unlikely situations. Not only did Kansas City tie the game up in regulation, but they won the entire thing in overtime. At this point I knew what was going to be asked Monday morning by Gloria and Jeff. “Is your voice all warmed up, Cody?”
