Sask Power is out with with a warning.
People have been getting what appears to be a text message from Sask Power saying they have an overdue amount. The text goes on to suggest the power will be shut off in a few days if the money isn’t paid, and the “victim” is told to click a link in the text message.
“SaskPower customers should not follow the link in the text message or provide any information to this website. Anyone who believes they have fallen victim to this scam should contact their financial institution and their local law enforcement agency.” reads a news release from the Crown. “Anyone who has received this text message should delete it immediately.”
The number these texts are coming from appears to be an out of province number according to Sask Power.
