The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added another potential piece to the roster.

The club announced it has signed former NFL receiver Dazz Newsome to a contract.

Newsome was drafted by the NFL’s Chicago Bears in 2021. He played in three games picking up three receptions for 23 yards, and six punt returns for 75 yards. He tried out for a few other NFL clubs, landing on the practice roster of the San Francisco 49ers in 2022.

Collegiately, Newsome played four years at the University of North Carolina where he switched from defensive back to receiver in his rookie season.
