Ewan Huet faced a barrage of shots, making 46 saves, but the Regina Pats succumbed to a 3-0 defeat against the Portland Winterhawks on Friday.
The Winterhawks seized control in the second period, netting two goals within three minutes late in the frame. Hudson Darby and Josh Davies found the back of the net to give Portland a 2-0 lead heading into the final period. In the third, Nate Danielson capitalized on a power play opportunity to extend the Winterhawks’ lead to 3-0.
Despite Huet’s impressive performance in goal, the Pats were shut out for the fourth time this season.
The loss also extended the Pats’ winless streak to 0-5 on their U.S. road trip.
With seven games remaining in the season, the Pats will look to turn their fortunes around in their final game of the U.S. road swing as they are in Everett to take on the Silvertips with puck drop scheduled for 8:05 p.m.
