Regina Fire & Protective Services rushed to a dwelling fire on Elliot Street early Sunday.

Crews faced intense smoke and flames, and tragically, one person was found deceased during search operations.

Fire investigators swiftly determined the cause of the blaze to be the careless use of smoker’s materials.

Authorities are working closely with the Saskatchewan Coroner Services to find out the cause of death.
