With no resolution on the horizon for the labour dispute between the provincial government, and the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation will be continuing its job action.
The STF announced Friday there will be a province wide ban on extra curricular activities all week, except Friday, which is a holiday.
Teachers will also withdraw lunch supervision on a rotating basis. For today:
All schools in Holy Family Catholic School Division
All schools in Holy Trinity Catholic School Division
All schools in North East School Division
All schools in Prairie Spirit School Division
All schools in Saskatchewan Rivers and Prince Albert Catholic school divisions
All schools in Living Sky and Light of Christ Catholic school divisions and Sakewew High School (North Battleford)
The stumbling block for a deal remains “class size” and “class complexity”. The government says that issue should be worked out with the school divisions and promised money allocated in the budget will continue to flow in the years to come.
Teachers want that promise in writing in their collective bargaining agreement, to make sure the government doesn’t cut the funding in future budgets.
