Part of Victoria Avenue was full of billowing smoke as flames overtook a section of one residence in Regina this morning. Emergency crews rushed to the 500 Block of Victoria Avenue in response, upon arrival, crews were met with a challenging scene no doubt exasperated by high winds.

Firefighters entered the burning structure, successfully rescuing one occupant. However, the status and condition of the individual remain uncertain as they were transported to the hospital by EMS.

No further injuries have been reported the cause of the fire remains unknown, with authorities now moving to the investigative phase of their work.
