Mustangs’ push Broncos to the brink after OT win in Game 5

For the 2nd straight night it went to overtime but this time the Melfort Mustangs came out on top.

Rhett Hamilton scored his 1st goal of the playoffs just 5:26 into first overtime to lead the Mustangs to a 4-3 victory over the Humboldt Broncos in Game 4 from the Elgar Peterson Arena.

Tristan Ziola, Owen Nelson and Cole Unger also scored for the Mustangs while Travis Bryson, Maddox Amaral and Daylan Weigel replied for the Broncos.

James Venne kicked aside 21 of 24 shots in the Mustang net, while Broncos’ G Benjamin Motew made 33/37 stops in the loss.

The Mustangs have a chance to clinch a berth in the Canterra Seeds Cup Final with a win in Game 5 on Saturday night back in Melfort
