Three arrested following four convenience store robberies

Three people have been arrested following four convenience store robberies dating back to December 2022.

It was back on December 10, 2022, that police were dispatched to the first robbery, which occurred at a convenience store on the 200 block of Winnipeg Street. A man with a knife entered, demanded money and took merchandise, then fled.

Just two days later, police were dispatched to a convenience store on the 400 block of North Broad Street for a robbery. The store had been robbed by two men, one of whom had a firearm.

On February 24, 2023, shortly before 9:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a convenience store on the 5500 block of 7th Avenue for the report of a robbery. Three men entered the store, one of them holding a firearm and demanding money. After the theft, the suspects fled.

On June 29, 2023, shortly before 10:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a convenience store on the 100 block of Albert Street. Three men entered, robbed the store, and fled.

An investigation into the robberies led to the arrest of a 16-year-old on March 14 of this year, a 15-year-old on March 19, and an 18-year-old on April 11.

The 16-year-old youth is charged with two counts of commercial robbery, two counts of disguise with intent, and use of an imitation firearm during the commission of the offence. The 15-year-old was charged with three counts of both commercial robbery and disguise with intent.

The 18-year-old was charged with three counts of commercial robbery, two counts of disguise with intent, and use of an imitation firearm during the commission of the offence.

The 15-year-old made his first court appearance on March 20, the 18-year-old made his first appearance on April 12, and the 16-year-old is scheduled to make his first appearance on April 29.
