Home Alone house up for sale

This would be the ultimate paradise for anyone born in the 1980’s or 90’s. The house featured in the two Home Alone movies with Macaulay Culkin has been fully renovated and now up for sale. The 1921 built 9,100 square foot home is located north of Chicago, Illinois in the community of Winnetka at 671 Lincoln Ave. The house was the scene of a showdown between Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) and robbers Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) which lead to some bumps and bruises on the inept criminals.

According to Zillow, the agency responsible for the sale of the house, it’s a 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom home complete with a private home theatre, dual island kitchen, an indoor sports court, and, of course, that iconic staircase that Kevin rode his toboggan down and out the front door. The asking price for this iconic piece of movie history is $7.16 million (Canadian dollars) and comes fully furnished.

Home Alone arrived in theatres in November of 1990 and proved to be a box office smash hauling in $477 million worldwide and creating a star out of a then 10-year-old Macaulay Culkin. A second Home Alone movie was released in November of 1992 and took place between the home in Chicago and an abandoned home in New York City. It, too, was a box office smash, hauling in $359 million worldwide.
