It’s About Time MLB!

As you might be aware, I love my baseball. Baseball stats, to me, are guide lines (focal points), in which, I compare all players too. Not many people will care about this or even consider it special, but I, for one, believe we need to encompass all the players from all the professional leagues.

Numbers are baseball’s backbone, driving the game’s narratives more than words ever could. They are the milestones players chase and the symbols fans commit to memory, forever. That’s why the MLB’s decision to update the record books to include Negro League statistics is not just a gesture — it’s a monumental correction.

For too long, legends of the game have been overlooked, and this inclusion restores the rightful place of true pioneers of the the game and the trailblazers. We have fixed the fracture to honour those who paved the way and that is a historic step, long overdue. It’s about time we give every player their due recognition.

Now do yourself a favour and Google the home run king Josh Gibson.
