What are you reading? When asked, our CKRM line up gave these answers: Autobiography: Colin Lovequist (mostly country artists), True Crime: Cody Glydon AND as for me, I’m all over the map from biographies, classic authors such as Ernest Hemmingway, Dr. Suess! Maybe a diet or fitness book that I pick up to read tid-bits then put it down. Self-Help (financial) & History for Jeff Young. I will be honest, most books I have, are read about a quarter of the way through and then I move on to something else. Its not that I can’t read, I just don’t make the time to do it. My loss! It must be that the love of reading begins as a child.
This month you can increase or deplete your book collection. We had a chance to speak with Brent Schick about the Senior’s University Group’s June “BIG BOOK SALE”. From now to the 24th of the month, books are collected. Books, magazines and cds, games, puzzles, graphic novels and comics are just some of the pieces that are needed. The best thing is to check out the website for details on what is not acceptable. The Big Book Sale began in 2007. Last year over 111,000 donations were accepted. Prices of pieces ranging from $0.50 to $5. www.thebigbooksale.ca
If you haven’t been apart of the Big Book Sale, drop off is now to the Highland Curling Club, 348 Broad Street, Regina. Once the books are gathered and sorted, the sale will begin June 26 to 29th.
