STF to ask members about binding arbitration

The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation is engaging in consultations with its members about using binding arbitration to finalize a new collective bargaining agreement. The key issues include class complexity and teachers’ wages.

Further details will not be disclosed while consultations are ongoing.

The province’s teachers have been on strike for several months, as the teachers federation and the school boards’ bargaining committee have met a few times.

The Teachers’ Bargaining Committee will announce the next steps in a news release on Friday afternoon, with media availability to follow.
