Canada’s Farm Show: Day 3

So far, two successful days have passed at Canada’s Farm Show presented by Viterra and today is the third and final day. The show runs until 4pm today at Regina’s REAL District. It’s $15 for adults and free for kids ages 17 and under, however the first 500 farmers under the age of 40 will get in for free because it’s “young farmers day” presented by Farm Credit Canada

The morning starts at 10 with former Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall speaking about the future of agriculture in the province. Wall will be covering a number of topics including strategies that could help farmers remain competitive and financially stable. Sticking with the innovation theme this year, Wall will also be discussing advancing technology that will impact Saskatchewan agriculture in the future.

At 11am, Landon Fahlman of FCC AgExpert will talk to farmers about digitizing farm records and how it can prepare farm operators for the future while also aiding in decision making.

The AgTech Innovation panel will begin at 11:30am with Evan Shout, Navdeep Toor, Heather Claire, Tina Beaudry, and Ian Macdonald. This panel discussion will explore how technology and agriculture merge while explaining how innovation is shaping the future of farming in this province.

Today will be an exciting day for Morris Equipment as they launch their 10 series Air Cart starting at 12:15pm. Garth Massie of Morris will share the details on what farmers can expect from the new machine.

At 1pm, Ground Truth Ag will be holding a discussion on grain grading frustrations and how technology can be used from farm to destination to make this issue a little less problematic for producers.

Finally, the day will wrap up with a career fair for those who are looking for work in the agriculture industry. This event will take place at the Launch Pad in the International Trade Centre, Hall A starting at 1:30pm.
