On Wednesday night, ten people from Saskatchewan were awarded the Saskatchewan Order of Merit for their contributions to their communities and to the province.
The awards are handed out by the Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty at Government House in Regina.
The Order of Merit was set up in 1985 to recognize the achievements of people from Saskatchewan, with 272 awards being handed out over that time, including last night.
This year’s honourees are:
- Tribal Chief Mark Arcand, Saskatoon
- Brynn Boback-Lane, Saskatoon
- Floyd Favel, Paynton
- Dr. Thomas Hadjistavropoulos, Regina
- Renu Kapoor, S.V.M., Regina
- Curtis Kleisinger, Regina
- Brad Wall, Cypress Hills
- Colonel (Ret’d) Malcolm Young C.D., Saskatoon
- Greg Yuel, Saskatoon
- Olivia Yuel, Saskatoon
