Let the Season Begin

Home time is the best time. Saskatchewan Roughriders have been on the road for 2 regular season games and it is time now for Rider Nation to present themselves on Sunday afternoon. Carve up a watermelon, get your Zubaz ’90’s fashion pants on, pull out the beads, the foam hands, cowbells, specialty jewelry and other hardware that you flash at home games. It is GO TIME.

2024 Home Opener is a must win, must impress, must be at event to kick off a year that, yes, has started with some penalty issues and a come from behind nerve wracking motivation, however fans in the stands need to show this version of the Roughriders what we are all about. No beefs and boos, Corey Mace and company do not get that treatment. If you have met Coach Mace you know why? He’s original, he’s passionate, he is the driving force behind a team and coaching staff that are always striving for something better. That is spilling throughout the Saskatchewan Roughrider fan base.

Sunday, Mosaic Stadium, the main event begins with Coor’s Light Party in the Park and spills onto the field with the signature rush on to the field. “Let’s Get It Started … “. The anthem, the fly over, seeing your football family that have been absent since the fall of 2023, a year we should gladly move on from.

Seth Strankman has some details on Party in the Park and what to expect inside. Something we didn’t get around to is additional incentives for the Foundation’s 50/50. There is a 40 percent discount on End Zone flags available at the Mosaic Rider Stores, $5.00 beer applies to Coor’s Light Party in the Park and certain vendors at the stadium (not on draft beer). Seth it is always good to have a chat. Here’s Seth and his comments for Sunday’s Home Opener.

And as always, if you cannot make it to the game, listen on line or the old fashion radio style, wherever you are and whatever you are doing! The Cooperators Rider Radio Network is the place to be for all the Rider information. Crofts’ Electric Pregame with Justin Dunk, Wes Cates & Don Hewit begins at 2pm followed by Dave Thomas and Luc Mullinder at 4pm.
