Tourism Saskatchewan launching photo contest

Sometimes we don’t realize how beautiful Saskatchewan really is until someone points it out to us. We tend to forget that Saskatchewan is more than just a flat, farming province. It’s a place with beautiful lakes, wonderous wilderness, amazing fishing, incredible provincial and national parks, and some of the finest golf courses anywhere in Canada. The tourism industry in Saskatchewan has seen tremendous growth over the past year with more US residents crossing the border. There was a 54 per cent increase in land crossing from Americans and a 45 per cent increase in air traffic visits. Tourists and visitors spent nearly $2.9 billion in 2023, up from $2.4 billion in 2022.

This week, Tourism Saskatchewan has launched their annual ExploreSask photo contest which encourages people to showcase the beauty of this province. There are six different categories including people and places, prairie, wildlife, winter, woods and water, and a video category as well.

The photo contest is open to all amateur photographers and videographers and there are prizes up for grabs. Five $500 VISA gift cards will be given away and a $1000 VISA gift card for the winner of the video category.

The ExploreSask photo contest is on now until September 15th, 2024. CLICK HERE to enter the contest or to see last year’s submissions.
