“For a small town in Saskatchewan, in my opinion, we put on one of the best sports day’s and rodeo’s out there and a good fast ball tournament,” explained volunteer and organizer Kelvin Hawreluik.
The Eastern Professional Chariot and Chuckwagon racers will be flying around the track on Saturday, July 6th starting at 1pm. Hawreluik, who’s a chuckwagon racer himself, says chuckwagon racing is not for the faint of heart.
“We’ve been radared at a little over 45 miles per hour,” Hawreluik chuckled.
Not just Saskatchewan cowboys and cowgirls will be in Sheho, Hawreluik says there will be participants from Manitoba and as far away as Mexico. The rodeo begins at 2:00 on Sunday, July 7th followed by saddle bronc and mutton busting.
Hawreluik thanks all the sponsors for their support this year and gives a pat on the back to all the volunteers who make the sports days happen each summer. Admission to the event is $10/day or $20 for a weekend pass.
