YORKTON – It was a storybook ending for Ella Kozak on Friday in Yorkton as she capped off her junior career with her second Saskatchewan Junior Women’s Championship at the Deer Park Municipal Golf Course.
Kozak showcased her immense talent and consistency throughout the tournament, carding impressive rounds of 70, 69, and 72 clinching the title by an astonishing 13 shots over Calgary’s promising golfer, Sela Ogada.
Meanwhile, Chloe Wills of Kyle made a significant mark by finishing third in the overall championship. Not stopping there, Wills secured her second consecutive under-17 Saskatchewan championship with a score of 18-over par through three rounds.
Ogada, demonstrating her potential, took home the under-15 category title, adding to her growing list of achievements.
In the electrifying Junior Men’s Championship, Saskatoon’s Ryan Mosher proved his mettle by making a remarkable comeback to edge out fellow Saskatoonian Max Regier, winning the overall under-19 championship by a narrow one-shot margin.
Aricin Franklin, who led after two rounds also put on a commendable performance, finishing third in the championship but also claimed victory in the under-17 category.
Lucas Sturgeon of Saskatoon emerged as the champion in the under-15 title while Jun Lee of Regina rounded out the winners by taking home the under-13 trophy.
