Regina fire crews contain weekend garage blaze

Yesterday morning, shortly before 11 a.m., a potentially disastrous fire broke out in the 300 block of Cannon Street. The blaze originated in a detached garage at a residence.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the garage engulfed in flames. They were able to bring the fire under control, successfully preventing it from spreading to nearby structures and neighboring homes.

Investigators have begun examining the scene to determine the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported among residents or firefighters during the incident. As the investigation continues, the fire is a reminder that garages and storage should be kept free from potential fire hazards. This includes safely storing flammable materials and ensuring that electrical wiring is up to code.
