The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation’s Teachers’ Bargaining Committee has named Dawn Harkness as its nominee for the arbitration panel addressing class complexity and wages.

Harkness, a retired teacher and principal, joins Daniel Ish, a former law professor, and Greg Chatlain, a former education director, on the panel. The committee opted for binding arbitration after consulting with members, aiming for a new collective agreement.

Both sides will present their cases, and the panel will issue a legally binding decision. The STF said arbitration dates will be announced soon.
