The opening of the Queen City Ex in Regina is also the “unofficial” halfway point of summer. By tomorrow, July will be in the rear view mirror and September lurks on the horizon, but for this long weekend, there is the touchstone of summer in Regina, the QCX.
The gates are open now, as the annual exhibition runs until Sunday night.
So what’s happening on day one?
First off there is the midway, packed with rides, games of chance and other entertainment. Tied into that is a small fleet of food trucks and set ups to make sure you don’t go hungry, or thirsty during your visit to the “Ex”.
Tonight in Confederation Park, there will be a concert by the Regina Symphony Orchestra. The RSO will be playing some music from popular video games as part of the show. That gets underway at 8:30pm, and is followed by fireworks.
There is also live music and other entertainment spread through the grounds of the REAL District.
