Growing up, my sister had a cassette of Bob Marley. That cassette was played non-stop throughout my childhood. I loved every song, and I know the words to every song. The Best of Bob Marley and the Wailers. Funny though, it wasn’t until I met my husband that I started listening to Bob’s son Ziggy Marley.

Jamaica, what a beautiful country. My husband and I were able to go there in 2016. Way too long ago. It is definitely on our bucket list to go to again. We took the bus ride up the mountain, on a very narrow road to Marley’s resting place.

August 6, 1962 was Jamaican Independence Day. This past weekend we went to the Jamaican Independence Day Summer Festival at the Western Development Museum. Jerk chicken, pumping Reggae music, bouncy castle for the kids, and fabulous things to buy. They also had a ton of different games to participate in. It was a great day!
