It’s a new chapter for Ray Orb, as he is now adjusting to life after being the president of the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) for the last ten years, and twenty overall with the Board. Thursday was his last day in the role. William “Bill” Huber is Acting President until an election is held for Orb’s replace at the SARM Annual Convention in March 2025.
At the SARM office in Regina, 620 CKRM AgriNews Director and host of SaskAgToday Ryan Young sat down with Ray Orb to talk about what he has seen in his two decades with the organization. Orb explained the differences between working with the NDP and Saskatchewan Party, and the provincial and federal governments, accomplishments and regrets, what he’d like to be remembered for, and what his plans are for the future.
