How was your summer?

Was your summer absolutely CRAZY?!

Monday Night, August 26 might not be crazy, just a bit odd if you are a Toronto Blue Jay fan or a Boston Red Sox follower. Former Blue Jay catcher is going to be playing for both teams! This is how the game came to be; the Red Sox & Blue Jays were playing, the game was suspended. Danny Jansen was at bat at the time of the game stoppage. So now he is going to catch against his own pinch-hitter. What uniform do you wear!? ha ha ha.

While summer is on its slow down, last week for kids to be wild & free, we can still jam in all the bbq’s, lake time and travel possible.

My summer flew and looking back on the photos – much was done, leaving little time to unwind. From July 1 right through to September 1 is has been event after event, some work related (really all work related) and some not. Writing a blog and speaking of your summer is work related, because we write about what we know. I’m sure I saw you at some of the events. Country Thunder, Queen City Ex, Roughrider football, Kennedy parade, Bengough at the Gateway Festival, on location, farmer’s markets, Casino Regina Show Lounge appearances. And then that quiet time of clearing out items from my apartment or at least collecting and assessing what will be rehomed.

If there ever was a holiday, it would be freeing yourself from the things that are surrounding you. Or at least taking a look at what habits you might have that you can sure do with out. While our mom was alive, she always admired things that I had bought. This goes for my sister as well. So what do you do, you buy in multiples. Now, I can stop doing that. Sure easier said than done. Little did I know I had multiples of Cling Wrap!!! I think I have enough koozies and t-shirts to keep everyone dressed and their drink cool!

A trip to Maple Creek and Medicine Hat, for basically 36 hours, was a nice break. If you know me, you know I like to drive. Unfortunately, planning a trip with multiple nights of accommodations is not a priority! Mortlach, Saskatchewan. Make sure you stop into check out the “roadside attraction” of Don Cherry and the pictured Minion(s). A fascinating stop and do go into town, it is a tidy community with a museum plus some very interesting homes. Same goes for Maple Creek. It is just a quick jump off the TransCanada highway and includes a wonderful western wear shop, the Cowtown trifecta of stores is a must to check out. You can pop by the Goat Grotto and for your inner kid fix! Check out Rafter R Brewing for a craft beer fix.

Too many places to go and too much to do. Squeeze something into every day!
