Dinner Out at Moxies, Regina

Dining experiences in Regina; so many places to choose from, it can make your head spin! An invitation to the newly renovated Moxies was an opportunity to check out the menu, the “refresh” of Moxies and to have a little morning show meeting. So, here is what our take away was. First, we had no take away as we cleaned our plates. Cody Glydon and I sat in the dining portion of the restaurant. The upper booths for two are roomy and do offer privacy. Moxies’ Regina manager Aysun, sits with Cody for a picture and this shows you that the booth dividers are a nice height. And comfortable. There is room between you and the table so you don’t feel squished in.

The location is 1800 Victoria Avenue. Taking the service road on the North side of Victoria Avenue at Park Street is an easy way to access the restaurant. Or coming off of Victoria Avenue at Victoria Square intersection, you’ll also find ample parking shared by the Sandman and Denny’s locations or on the street. This was a Wednesday visit, so the hotel maybe wasn’t as busy as it would be on a weekend when parking might be tight. The business does accommodate 249 guests within the 8,000 square-foot-space. Reservations are a good idea. The bar area is spacious with big screen televisions. There is an open kitchen concept along the north wall giving you a glimpse into the fast paced kitchen. If you are familiar with Moxies in Regina, the enclosed patio is still a popular place and a quiet place amongst the hub-bub of the restaurant. This spot would be ideal for a gathering/special event. And from Aysun, it is hoped that next year the patio will see some upgrades.

As Cody and I looked over the menu we concluded that the Moxies menu offers something for everyone. There are signature dishes, burgers and fries, steaks and other options. What is a menu in 2024 without options for those looking for plant based entrees. Appetizers, salads, mains from steaks to curried dishes and desserts plus a kids menu should appease anyone at the table.

It takes solid people to run a major restaurant. I once worked at the south Earl’s in Regina (many, many years ago). I wasn’t cut out for a waitress career. I recognize this! I do however, promote that everyone should try this career. Being able to wait tables, work with others and make customers’ dining experience a good one, is a good life skill. A shout out to the hostess, the wait staff that took our drink and food order, those that brought out the food and picked up the dishes. It is a total team effort on a very busy week night. Good job Nathan.

When you spout out the phrase ” Where should be go? There’s no place to go!”, abruptly stop them and say, “Moxies”!
