The RCMP are investigating after a fatal ATV crash in Meadow Lake.

Saturday, officers saw two people on an ATV, and neither were wearing helmets. 

When police activated their emergency equipment to stop the ATV, it continued at a high rate of speed on Highway 55 towards the Flying Dust First Nation.  Police say they did not pursue.

According to the RCMP the ATV turned south off the highway an hit a ditch. 

One of the occupants was a 14 year old from the Flying Dust First Nation.  She was unresponsive and despite life saving efforts from EMS, she was pronounced dead. 

The other person on the ATV had minor injuries.

Police and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service are investigating.
