A very busy weekend around Saskatchewan with September wrapping up and filled with events across the province including the Saskatchewan Roughriders home game Saturday afternoon at 1pm.
The Co-operators Rider Radio Network gets rolling nice and early from the Harvard Studio 620 Lounge at Mosaic Stadium. And, yes, the game is on CTV, not TSN. However, being at the game and catching the action live is still one of the best experiences. The roar of the crowd. The player warm up pregame ritual. The Coors Light Party in the Park atmosphere. Each home game brings a new experience for the fans and players. Of course we hope for a win (even though they have been few and far between). But the cultural aspect of this September 28th game has all the feels in the midst of Truth and Reconciliation Week. SIGA Kisiskaciwan Otehtapiwak (Saskatchewan Roughriders) scarves are available for the first 5,000 fans through the gates. The Canadian Football League teams have issued their version of Indigenous t-shirts. The Roughriders design being wildly popular has had people pre-ordering like crazy. They are a very attractive with the specific design that honours Saskatchewan’s Indigenous community.
Good morning Saskatchewan enjoys welcoming the Saskatchewan Roughrider representatives into the studio to talk about what to expect at home games. Today, Jacqueline Hurlbert popped in to tell us a bit of what you need to know for tomorrow (Saturday, September 28). Plus a preview of those scarves from game sponsor SIGA. There are on-line auctions for the Roughrider orange warm up jerseys and a few other special events planned.
