This new diet fad sounds…fishy

Over the years there have been all kinds of unusual diets come to the forefront that people, and some experts, tout as the the next amazing weight loss program. Some may remember the baby food diet where people would eat upwards of 16 jars of baby food. The Shangri-law diet encouraged people to eat bland food to fend off food cravings. There was the raw food only diet for a while, the juice cleanse diet, the controversial Atkins diet, the Keto diet, and we can’t forget about the Paleo diet, which encouraged people to follow a hunter-gatherer diet of the paleolithic era.

Now it’s the Sardine diet. Various social media users are now touting an all sardine diet as the next incredible way to shed pounds. It’s pretty simple, actually. Participants claim to eat only sardines for an extended period of time and nothing else. Some will go on the sardine diet for just a couple of days while others choose to go several weeks. One would think that a diet participant would get severely sick of sardines after a few days, but some believe it’s worth it.

The sardine diet stems from a former doctor named Annette Bosworth, or Doctor Boz, from 2023. She claims sardines have many health benefits that will make ketones surge, causing weight loss. Despite having her medical license stripped in 2015 after being convicted of perjury and filing false documents in South Dakota’s Republican Primary, people are buying what she’s putting down regarding the diet.

According to dieticians, sardines are a great source of protein, vitamin B12, calcium, vitamin D, iron, and a source of Omega 3 fatty acids. Sardines are small fish that grow to a maximum of 10 inches and are often part of traditional Mediterranean, Portuguese, Indian, and Filipino cuisine.

Nothing like kissing someone on an all sardine diet!
