CFL fines Riders’ C.J. Reavis for committing non-football act against Elks

Saskatchewan Roughriders’ strong-side linebacker C.J. Reavis has been hit in the pocketbook by the Canadian Football League.

The CFL head office fined Reavis for committing a non-football action by throwing a punch at Edmonton Elks’ offensive lineman Jakub Szott during their Week 18 matchup. It’s the second fine for Reavis in 2024 after being financially disciplined for violating the league’ code of conduct after the Riders Week 1 win at Commonwealth Stadium.

The 28-year-old has played in 15 games this season, missing one due to a knee injury, recording 79 tackles and four sacks. The Chester, VA native is in his third season with the Green and White. He’s suited up in 34 games making 138 tackles, seven sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception.

Saskatchewan hosts the B.C. Lions on Saturday afternoon at Mosaic Stadium. Countdown to Kick-off begins with a chance to watch Justin Dunk and Wes Cates live at 2 p.m. on YouTube. Dave Thomas and Luc Mullinder join at 4 p.m., with the kick-off to follow at 5 p.m. on the Co-operators Roughrider Radio Network.
