Starting Tuesday, influenza (flu) and COVID-19 vaccinations are available at Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) immunization clinics, participating local pharmacies and some physician and nurse practitioner offices across the province.

Getting immunized with influenza and COVID-19 vaccines is a safe and effective way to help everyone stay healthy and prevent illness, according to the SHA. It is safe to receive both vaccinations at the same visit, officials say.

Saskatchewan residents can also book immunizations for up to six people in one appointment through the SHA Patient Booking System available at 4flu.ca or by calling 1-833-727-5829 Monday to Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Pharmacies are also offering influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations. Consult the immunization pharmacy maps available on 4flu.ca.

Seniors, people with chronic health conditions and/or compromised immune systems, children under the age of five and their caregivers, and pregnant women are among those considered most at risk of contracting a respiratory illness. High-risk groups and their caregivers are encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible. High-dose influenza vaccine is available for all Saskatchewan residents 65 years of age and older.

Influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations are available free of charge, to residents of the province aged six months and older. Children aged six months to four years old can only be immunized at SHA fall immunization clinics, public health offices or by a physician or nurse practitioner.
