The Royal Canadian Legion, Regina Branch 001 needs your help.
As November looms, we start to think about the Royal Canadian Legion branches and how important they are to the community. Note how many branches are closing their buildings due to the lack of members. While the days of our parents, grandparents and great grandparents are long gone we continue to reconnect with the stories of past conflicts. We are seeing a whole new group of soldiers dispatched to location covering the globe, protecting or lending humanitarian assistance to people we will never know. When mid-October and November come, we start to think about Remembrance Day and the events that stand out on November 11th.
As a member of the Legion, we recognize that there are benefits to having a building that houses the stories of Canadian soldiers with museum artifacts, artwork, literature and a general place to pay your respects, come together and be mindful of the sacrifices. The energy that it takes to run a branch requires members to be active with more than just the Poppy Campaign, although that is a big working piece. The opportunities to meet new people, spread the word about the Legion and its many activities, learn a bit more about the history of Canadian Military operations are just a few of the entities to the Legion.
Simply put, the Regina Branch #001 is looking for men and women to join the organization. First and foremost we need you during the Poppy Campaign. Wear the Poppy, help distribute the Poppy, attend Remembrance Day activities, volunteer time when it comes to events that take place through the year.

The draw for the Vehicle of Your Choice happens on Thursday, December 12th at the Legion’s 1820 Cornwall Street, Regina. location. If you happen to be downtown check into the Branch, get your ticket there, and then take a tour, have a chat. And just maybe we will see you at the October 24th meeting.
