(Video) John Anderson to be inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame

This Sunday will be very special for country music legend John Anderson as he officially becomes part of the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. Anderson rode into Nashville in 1972 with ideas and hope for a country music career. To make money in music city he took up a job as a shingler and once shingled the Grand Ole Opry!

Anderson recorded and released his first song in 1975, but it failed to chart for him. His first bit of success came in 1979 when “You’re Lying Blue Eyes” reached #15 on the country chart. Throughout the 1980’s he’d score several top ten hits including three number 1’s; “Swingin,” “Wild and Blue,” and “Black Sheep.” He’d see a resurgence in his career in the early 1990’s when he’d score a few more top 10 hits including two more number one songs; “Straight Tequila Night,” and “Money in the Bank.”

John Anderson will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this Sunday alongside James Burton and the late Toby Keith.
