The Government of Saskatchewan has declared the first week of November as Carbon Monoxide (CO) Awareness Week to promote CO safety across the province.
SaskEnergy, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), and the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK) are urging residents to install CO alarms, especially with heating systems running more frequently during winter.
Each year, SaskEnergy responds to around 1,500 CO-related calls.
To increase protection, regulations require CO alarms in all Saskatchewan homes. For more CO safety tips, residents can visit the SaskEnergy and TSASK websites.
