(Video/audio) JJ Voss Releases New Song

Saskatchewan recording artist JJ Voss is gearing up for a busy month as he releases new music and prepares for another concert at Darke Hall in Regina. The SCMA award winning artist just released a song titled “I Wanna Go Home,” which was penned by his good friend Dean Kush of Faster Gun fame.

“He (Kush) brought this one to my garage and he sang it for me and I said ‘oh my God, I wish I would have wrote that one with you or I wish I would’ve wrote that one,’ so I can’t take the credit for the song, but I think the message is very strong,” proclaimed Voss.

Listen to the song:

The song tells the story of three separate and unrelated individuals who have one thing in common: they want to seek comfort and safety that only a home can bring after experiencing some sort of trauma in their life.

“For me home is a safe place and I would hope for everybody out there that their home is somewhere where they feel safe and comfortable. That’s not always the case, but I would hope for that,” Voss said.

Voss admits it did not take long to record the song and put all the elements together. Take a listen below:

In addition to releasing the new song, Voss and his band are gearing up for a couple of shows around Saskatchewan. He will perform on November 16th in Mossbank as part of a fundraising effort for the community rink and he’ll be at Darke Hall on November 23rd with Dean Kush and Megan Kelly.
