Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a snowfall warning for a number of areas in Saskatchewan Friday early morning.

Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 20 cm, and 20 to 35 cm in some areas is expected.

Snowfall begins in southern Alberta Friday morning, spreading northward. Snowfall intensity will vary through the day and tonight. The weather front will hit western Saskatchewan on Friday, moving east through Saturday and into Sunday.

A developing low-pressure system over Montana will spread an area of heavy snow across Saskatchewan regions. The snow is expected to taper off on Sunday morning.

This snowfall warning will likely be expanded eastward across the province as the event nears.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
