I’ve lost my mind, maybe you have too. And I don’t care. I must have hit that plateau where, as the song goes, “my give a damn’s busted”. It might surprise you why I say that.
Media platforms are overwhelming with information and everyone likes to make comments about them. Some are nice, some are horrible and other people just kind of want to call you out. Be honest now, some just like to pick a fight. My favourite is the repetition of the comments. Example: If you think that the Princess of Wales is looking glammy after a royal event or that she may look tired that’s fine. HOWEVER, are you needing to comment along with the other 10,000 people that have just said same. No! Just move on because Brittany Spears has something to say or do in front of the camera! That must be comment worthy? After all, she just turned 43 on the 2nd and wants everyone to know she moved to Mexico to avoid the paparazzi. shhhhhh keep that under your hat!!
I like watching videos on Instagram or X or whatever. They can sure drag you into a rabbit hole. Time sucking, mind numbing in ways that make you late for a dinner date, a movie, picking your kids up from work. You get it. We all do. Like those ear buds! Can you even talk to a person anymore without tapping them on the shoulder to see if they are plugged in OR standing directly in front of them – HELLO, can we talk!!
These are the stories I can get behind: New Head Coaches in the CFL coming onto the scene. Everyone’s 10 cents will be added to that one. I like seeing how people have decorated their homes and we all like a wacky “Christmas Vacation” story in that regard. I do like to see what the Royal Family is up to this holiday season. We catch glimpses of how much the children have grown. We won’t see that from Harry Windsor’s family though. Too bad, Harry come back into the fold. AND last night after going to the City of Regina “Light the Lights”, I went to the Conexus Arts Centre for the theatrical production of “The Book of Mormon”. Wildly popular the musical comedy has grossed over $800 million. Just last month it became the 12th longest running Broadway show with more than 5,000 performances. This is not for everyone, but everyone should see it. The production will have you laughing, gasping as the raunchy language and images roll out. But the themes of faith and doubt that stem from the show will leave you thinking about what you just saw, to the point you might want to go again. Be warned! It may not be what you think it is!! After all 2 of the three writers are responsible for South Park!
Sure, this little note may leave you scratching your head. I do want you to check out our videos and other stories, they are an extension of all that we do. But not unlike you, we all need a break and for a few of us that is getting in the car and heading out somewhere that you’ll see things in a different light. Take a rest from whatever weighs heavy on you. Find the funny side of things even at the darkest times. And sure, take your cell phone but use it to take pictures or to call for a tow, not to play games or have a meeting.
