A suspicious death is under investigation on Piapot First Nation. On Thursday at around 8:15 a.m., Southey RCMP responded to a call and found 30-year-old Melanie Asham-Obey from Pasqua First Nation deceased at a residence. Her family has been notified, and victim services are assisting them.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is leading the investigation. Police are urging anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers. Residents on Piapot First Nation can expect a higher police presence as the investigation continues.
