The suspect in the 2023 murder of Roman Miller is now in custody. Daniel “Juma” Atem, 31, was arrested in Winnipeg last night. Atem was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree murder after Miller was fatally shot on July 29, 2023, on the 2100 block of Broad Street.

Earlier this year, Atem was named one of the “Top 25 Most Wanted” by the BOLO Program, which offered a $50,000 reward and launched a billboard campaign to raise awareness.

Atem will appear in court today in Winnipeg. He will then be transported to Regina, where a court date will be scheduled.
