Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) has been recognized as a Caring Company by Imagine Canada for the eighth consecutive year.
This designation, noted in a media release from FCL, highlights their commitment to community investment across Western Canada.
In the 2023 fiscal year, FCL donated over $8.7 million to various programs and organizations. Initiatives such as Co-op Community Spaces, the FCL Community Investment Fund, and Co-op Helps received significant support, along with contributions to the Canadian Red Cross and United Way. FCL also made in-kind food donations to local food banks through its Distribution Centres.
Imagine Canada awards Caring Company status to organizations that annually donate at least one percent of their pre-tax profit to non-profits and charities. This recognition underscores FCL’s dedication to giving back on behalf of the Co-operative Retailing System and its employees.
In addition to FCL’s contributions, local Co-ops continue to support their communities through independent donations and initiatives.
