Investigation leads to arrest after series of break ins and thefts

On January 23, police arrested a 33-year-old man following a two-month investigation into several property crimes in Regina. 

Incidents included break-ins at businesses on Husum Road, Leonard Street North, and Hodsman Road, with stolen tools, diesel fuel, and a truck.

A separate July 2024 break-in involved stolen utility trailers from a business on Victoria Avenue East.  One of those trailers was recovered near Fort Qu’Appelle

Search warrants were executed on a home, a separate garage, and vehicles. This has led to multiple charges:

  • Break and Enter and Theft x5 [CC 348(1)(B)];
  • Theft of Auto [CC 333.1(1)];
  • Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000 x2 [CC 355(A)];
  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 x2 [CC 355(B)];
  • Unsafe Storage of a Firearm [CC 86(2)];
  • Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition [CC 95(1)(B)];
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing it is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
  • Breach of Prohibition Order for Prohibited Firearm x3 [CC 117.01(1)];
  • Possession of Identity Documents x6 [CC 56.1(1)];
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x3 [CC 145(5)(A)]; and
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of an Undertaking [CC 145(4)(A)].

The suspect appeared in Regina Provincial Court on January 24, 2025.
