Moose Jaw’s Police Chief is retiring effective Saturday.

Plans for Rick Bourassa to retire were initially announced in September of 2024. Still, Friday morning, the Moose Jaw Police issued a news release indicating Chief Bourassa will officially retire effective February 1.
Bourassa joined the Moose Jaw Police Service in October 2013 after 31 years with the Regina Police and a short stint with the provincial government.
The Moose Jaw Board of Police Commissioners will announce plans to hire a new police chief later, but for now, Deputy Chief Rick Johns will serve as Acting Chief of Police.
